1. High Speed Rail from Lijiang to Jiang Shangri-la

I tried to call a cab from the hotel via DiDi, but could not get one, so I asked a friend at the hotel counter to call a cab for me, but it was too late. Fortunately, the train was delayed and I was able to board the train I had reserved. We had already booked our train tickets in Japan via trip.com before we left Japan. We only use trip.com when we travel in China. If we have any problems, they are available by phone until 23:00, so they are very helpful.
When boarding a high-speed train, one's belongings are searched. The fruit knife and oxygen cylinder I had brought with me were confiscated. The oxygen cylinder was one that I had purchased for use at high altitudes when climbing snow-covered mountains. Next, we waited outside the ticket gate for the train to come. When the train arrives, it is indicated on the electric signboard in the photo, and the ticket gate opens. Japanese people line up in the line marked "Artificial Passage" on the electric signboard.

Seats in 2nd class. If you have a large, heavy suitcase, you are supposed to place it in the luggage area near the door. However, if the storage space is full, you will have to place your luggage under your feet and put your feet on top of it.
2. pine sangrinsa temple

I asked the travel agency next to the hotel counter if there were any sightseeing spots I could go now. The hotel's travel agency drove us there and picked us up.
You must purchase a ticket at the entrance to enter, but there is a discount for tourists over 60 years old. Just show your passport. However, there was no senior discount for purchases made through trip.com.
We ask every time we go to China because many tourist facilities in China offer discounts for people over 60 years old.
Toilets are everywhere, and there is no need to be troubled. The toilets are so-called Japanese-style toilets, which do not have handrails, and the floors are wet and slippery, making them difficult to use for those with bad knees. It is difficult for the elderly to stand up after sitting down to do their business. Toilet paper is a must, and the rule is that used paper is not flushed but thrown into a trash can placed next to it.
The temple was a wonderful Tibetan Buddhist temple.
3. Napa Sea

The hotel's travel agency continued to drive us to and from the Napa Sea.
We did I lap on foot while everyone else did one lap on horseback. The ground was muddy and our shoes got dirty. It might have been better to ride a horse. However, it was nice to take a leisurely 1.5 hour walk in nature.
I could have called a cab from DiDi, but everyone seemed to have come in a courtesy car.
4. Bara Gulgeon Shangri-la Grand Canyon

The day before, I booked a tour at a travel agency in the hotel where I was staying. The staff seemed to be getting tired of dealing with the old eyesight of a person over 60 years old by shifting his glasses every time he spoke to them, but the staff also seemed to be getting frustrated. I was able to get a tour, but I could not find the location of the bus terminal where we were going to meet. Even if we were told in Chinese characters, we could not call a cab with DiDi because it is impossible to input difficult Chinese characters into a smartphone. It was also difficult to find the location of the bus terminal on a map. The clerk could have told us where the bus terminal was located in English, but he didn't understand it either. After much struggle, we were relieved when the clerk called a cab for us the next morning and told the driver where we were going.
The next morning we reached the bus terminal smoothly and boarded the bus. After arriving at our destination, we still had to use the translator app on our phones to find out the time and meeting place for the return bus. No announcements were made in English.
Admission was almost half price with a senior discount for those over 60 years old.

Pala Village
The tour was conducted by bus within the region. We were able to see the residence of the Tibetan people.

Shangri-la Grand Canyon
We walked 2,500 meters along a jetty with no elevation difference and took a rubber boat (extra charge) for the return trip down the river.
