Lijiang Lijiang

1. at the airport in Lijiang

At the airport in Lijiang, my checked luggage from Japan was not on the carousel. However, the airport staff was courteous and helpful. Using the translation function on his smartphone, he spoke to me. He told me that my luggage was stopped at the transfer airport in Shanghai, and that he would take it on the next flight at 20:00 and deliver it to my hotel. The journey took about 40 minutes. The luggage arrived at the hotel during the night. When we opened the suitcase, we found a note saying that the battery had been discarded because it was in the luggage.

2. Lijiang Ancient City Surroundings

We took a walk around Lijiang Old Town. The old Chinese townscape had been preserved and was bustling with activity. It was a little tiring because there were many hills, many people, and it was raining a little. It seems that August is usually not a sunny month.

hotpot

We had a mushroom hot pot in front of the old castle. It seemed to be the season for fresh mushrooms. It seems that mushroom hot pot must be boiled for at least 20-30 minutes before eating. During the waiting time, we ate roasted pork belly around this restaurant (in other restaurants, we ate steamed buns and waited).

3.Kamitorapgyo

We made reservations to visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge through the travel desk at the hotel where we stayed. The river was narrow and had a tremendous amount of water.
The Zhong Tiger Leaping Gorge (Shangri-La side) on the other side of the river looked even more powerful, but it was located so close that it could be washed away if the water rose a little. The tiger photo above was taken from the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, with the tiger installed in the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge on the other side of the river.
